A lot of my work as an art therapist, I’ve
been working with people who feel they are not good at art, they are not artists and
they don’t somehow have permission to use art materials. So the theme for the workshop is – “Who is
an artist?” What does it mean when we call ourselves an
artist and what is the social currency we are claiming we use that name. There’s a line in the sand that has been drawn
early on in life and it says artists are here and I am here. So this kinetic sand that I have here, we’re
going to explore the sand. What does it look like to be an artist? What’s the landscape we encounter? And discover is it possible to form a new
view of what it means to be an artist?
